I prefer not to use phones. I am quite happy to use teleconference technologies and I find emai superb for most communication needs.

Text messaging usually gives the appearance of communication while ultimately failing in the job - it is the communication equivalent of junk food. Open, long running real time messaging has its place and, should we become good friends or active project collaborators, i look forward to keeping an open chat line on Signal or a similar chat channel.

Until such time, let's stick to email. In fact, if it is an initial contact and I don't know you, i'll probably respond from a publicly tracked, heavily surveilled, gmail address, so as to keep my private, secure email channel, well, private, and secure. Such is the challenge of messaging under the threat of American fascism.
